After his striking entry in Tulsa King season 3, Samuel L. Jackson is all set to lead a twisting spinoff of the show, NOLA King. His character, Russell Lee Washington Jr., was a pivotal part of the protagonist's adventures in the third season, and a new show following him promises an adventurous storyline ahead.

Inspired by Dwight's journey of building an empire from scratch in Tulsa, hitman Russell Lee Washington Jr. plans to start afresh in a different setting in NOLA King. New Orleans will become his center of operations, with the series expected to unfold there. Russell grew up in New Orleans, but he returned there four decades later for a completely different purpose.

The official synopsis of the series reads as follows:

"Inspired by what Dwight created in Tulsa and impressed with the possibilities of second chances, Washington returns to New Orleans, the home he abandoned forty-years ago, to rekindle his relationship with his family and friends, and to take control of the city he left behind. In so doing, he incurs the wrath of his former employers in New York, and makes himself vulnerable to old NOLA foes, both criminal and cop."

While the cast, release schedule, and other details are yet to be unveiled, it was reported by Deadline that the show might commence filming in February 2026.

Tulsa King season 3 gave a strong hint at the release of NOLA King with the developments that happened in Russell's life. The specific moments come at the end of the season finale, bringing a surprise to the fans.

Being on Dwight's side, he becomes actively involved in Dwight's fight with Jeremiah Dunmire. After the intense fight and subsequent victory of Dwight, the experience and Dwight's journey become a big inspiration for Russell.
