However, a new complication arrives in the form of Robert.It turns out that Norma had bequeathed everything to Robert instead of Douglas before escaping, thus leaving her nephew broke and in debt to some dangerous people who made threats against his life. So, Douglas and his pregnant fiancée, Mitzi, are forced to flee and seek refuge at Dinah and Perry's home.He soon realises that his life might be far worse than he had expected, when someone close to him shows their true colors. However, with Norma now missing, her nephew decides to give Pinky, a mobster to whom he owes money, the mansion, only to find out that Norma has left him nothing.It turns out that she left her mansion and her wealth to Robert instead. As such, Douglas and his future wife, Mitzi, are now broke and in danger, especially since Pinky and his gang had threatened Douglas’ life if he didn't pay back the money he owed in time. The situation forces the couple to flee their house, and they decide to seek refuge at Dinah and Perry’s residence in Palm Royale season 2 episode 4.They also somehow manage to make a stop and get married officially, albeit without a big wedding for now. That’s when Mitzi takes off her mask and shows her true colours by forcing Douglas to sleep on the couch until he gives her the extravagant wedding she wants.Unfortunately, it's a wedding that includes two showers, 12 bridesmaids, and several other big-ticket demands, even though Douglas is now broke and has very little to his name. This left Maxine in a lot of trouble, especially with Tom bursting into the room only to find her standing there, subsequently arresting her for Norma’s death. Even though there was no body or weapon to be found, Norma’s screams seemed to have been more than enough evidence for Tom.Maxine is then interrogated in Palm Royale season 2 episode 4 before being bailed out by a lawyer named Dr Dusty Magic, a part-time gynecologist who isn’t doing it for the money but because he’s a fan of hers.She then goes back to Evelyn’s house, where she has been living, and showers and changes, only for Evelyn to show up and get upset at her for stealing her money. That’s when Maxine realises that Norma had used her name to escape, going so far as to even steal her ticket and take Evelyn’s money, leaving her free to go anywhere and do anything.This complicates things for Maxine as she tries to clear her name, but through some investigation, she finds out that Norma has escaped to the Alps in Palm Royale season 2 episode 4. That is all but confirmed when Robert receives a letter from Norma telling him to keep the fake murder story going on and that she’s now left Palm Beach for where she truly belongs.At the same time, Maxine takes off her wedding ring, having learnt that Douglas and Mitzi are now married, and finds the name Agnes (Norma's real name) engraved on the inside.Interested viewers can watch Palm Royale season 2 episode 4 on Apple TV+.
