However, after she goes on a rant, the FBI proceeds to frame her by releasing a news report that claims that Linda, the main suspect in the assassination, used her interrogation to spread her manifesto. While completely false, they use her line ‘I am guilty of all of it’ to help drive their point home. It works, and now everybody believes that Linda is guilty, so Maxine decides to do something to help her friend, urging her to make a ‘Rolodex’ of all the dirt she has on high-level government officials.Linda does, and Maxine then takes it, and somehow, in a mix-up, she delivers it to Douglas instead of giving him the divorce papers as she intended. Douglas, not wanting to believe she served him with papers, hands it off to Perry, who reads it and then gives it to the authorities, hoping they will reward him in Palm Royale season 2 episode 2.Instead, they hand him a gun to go and kill Linda, and when Maxine realizes what has happened, she attempts to make amends. That’s when the Palm Royale ladies band together and bust Linda out, leaving Axel’s body in her chair instead. It works, and then Maxine makes the ultimate sacrifice as she calls Douglas for help.He arrives, despite nobody believing he would, and agrees to fly Linda out of the city if Maxine agrees to be exiled from Palm Beach. She agrees to his terms and then takes her stuff, travels through the underground tunnels, and takes up residence in a new abandoned house that’s filled with surprises.Norma might have killed Robert in Palm Royale season 2 episode 2Press Day and Photocall for the new season of “Palm Royale” (Image via Getty)While the dramatic rescue operation dominated Palm Royale season 2 episode 2, Norma continued to operate in the shadows as she played her cards and attempted to cash in on 80 million dollars. But her presence across the episode was limited, although her shadow loomed everywhere. That was especially the case every time Robert was on screen, as he remained in his hospital bed in the Dellacorte house, recovering from his gunshot wound. However, his situation takes a turn when Tom visits him and tells him about Axel Rosenships’ suspicious death, and before Tom can tell him where Axel died, Robert knows it was Norma. The gears start to click in his head as he realizes that there may have been a chance Axel knew exactly who Norma/Agnes was, and she might have killed him for that. It makes Robert a threat to her carefully constructed façade, especially now that she has $80 million coming her way.The final moments of Palm Royale season 2 episode 2 however, prove exactly that as Norma visits Robert in his room in the Dellacorte house, and the two have a short conversation. He tells her that he knows what happened to Axel and that it’s all over, to which Norma responds, ‘Yes, dear. ‘It is,’ as the camera pans to Norma’s hands holding a needle filled with a liquid. The implication is unmistakable, but the episode ends, leaving things on a cliffhanger at the end of Palm Royale season 2 episode 2.Interested viewers can watch Palm Royale season 2 episode 2 on Apple TV+.
