The Miss Universe 2025 competition is currently underway in Bangkok, Thailand, but the beauty pageant recently blew up after contestants walked out during one of the events. Contestants, including the reigning queen, reportedly left the venue and staged a walkout in protest after Thai pageant executive Nawat Itsaragrisil made disparaging comments towards Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch.

Per the livestream on Miss Universe Thailand's official Facebook page, Bosch left the venue, and some other MU contestants stood up and followed to leave the room in solidarity as Itsaragrisil told them, "Stop. Stop! Sit down. If anyone wants to continue the contest, sit down." Fatima Bosch later explained what prompted the walkout in a TikTok video posted by @ahtisa_universeph. She said:

"What your director just did is not respectful. He called me dumb because have have problems with the organization. And I think that's not fair because I'm here and I do everything OK. I don't mess with anyone. I just try to be kind. I'm trying to give my best, and he just shot me [down] and he just said to me and shut up, and a lot of different things."

According to Newsweek, the controversy started on the November 4 sashing ceremony at a hotel in Bangkok when MGI president Itsaragrisil confronted Bosch's absence from a previous sponsorship shoot and a filming session for Telemundo.
