FOX's hit medical series, Doc season 2, has finally arrived six months after the season 1 finale. The new season premiered on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Fans who missed the premiere episode had a second chance at viewing it on September 23, with new episodes following a Tuesday evening release schedule.

Doc season 2 will have 22 episodes, more than double the number of episodes in the first season, which had only ten. The series had a rare full-season order, being the only one with a 22-episode season since The Resident, another FOX medical drama that delivered 23 episodes during its fifth season back in 2021-2022.

The extended season means the audience can see more of Dr. Amy Larsen (Molly Parker) and her challenges in regaining her memory after a tragic accident.

As mentioned, Doc season 2 will have 22 episodes, with the first one getting a special premiere on September 14 before airing for a second time on Tuesday, September 23, to kick off the season's regular release schedule. New episodes will be released every Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time or 8:00 p.m. Central Time.

The first season of Doc follows Dr. Amy Larsen as she rebuilds her life and returns to being an intern after she lost her memory from a tragic car accident. In the second season, her journey to reclaim her life and navigate her new reality continues. Fox's description of the second season says:

"No longer Chief of Internal Medicine at Westside Hospital, Amy must restart her medical journey as an Intern in the hopes of becoming the doctor she once was. She’ll confront hard truths about her missing years, work to repair fractured relationships, and seek to reconcile the person she used to be with the one everyone else has come to know."

As she tries to reclaim her place, there are people around her whose motives and priorities remain hidden. Her personal and professional struggles aside, the season also brings more of the usual hospital drama, high-stakes emergency cases, and medical crises that will leave the doctor's life in chaos.
