"Holy Grail moment"- Noah Schnapp talks about Will's superhero moment in Stranger Things 5 

There is chaos at every corner in Stranger Things 5, as seen in the first four episodes released on November 26, 2025. Unexpected turn of events brings intense challenges for the characters. Eleven and her friends are driven to end Vecna's wrath once and for all, but the mission would not be so easy.

The final moments of episode 4 raised tensions as the plan to rescue Vecna's next targets fails miserably. However, an unexpected hero rises to power at the end, leaving the viewers in shock. Will gets new powers and manages to save his friends by killing the Demogorgons. This new side of Will became a highlight for Noah Schnapp, who plays the role of the youngest Byers in the series.

"So getting to have that opportunity with that scene was such an incredible experience, such a high for me and probably one of my favorite filming sequences of the year. And for Will, that moment is like the Holy Grail moment."

Noah Schnapp talks about his character's new powers in Stranger Things 5

Noah Schnapp has been playing the role of Will Byers since season 1, with his character's experiences being the starting point of all chaos in the series. His connection to the dark forces from the Upside Down made him suffer in all the seasons, but the latest installment has changed his fate.

Will's new powers put him in a new light, making his role in season 5 pivotal to how the last season will unfold. Noah Schnapp recently spoke to Netflix Tudum and shared his thoughts on the new developments in his character's journey. Talking about the moment when Will gains his powers, he said:

"It was such a dream. I remember texting the Duffers a long paragraph the next day after I filmed that scene and being like, “You guys don’t understand how grateful I am for this show and this character, and the way you wrote Will for the final season is just something I could have never dreamed of.”"

Talking about his preparations for that scene, Schnapp further elaborated:

"It was scary, honestly, because I've never really worked face to face with Vecna, which is crazy because we're so connected and have so many parallels to our stories. But I was scared on set watching him and being face to face with him, and it really helped with the performance."

He then spoke about working with Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna) for the scene and mentioned:

"I could really feel a part of it, because it’s not CGI and so much of it is Jamie Campbell Bower in a real costume and hours of makeup. It was incredible getting to work with him, and he's also an amazing actor. And I think it's so masterful how it all comes together with Will and Vecna."

The striking moment that highlighted Will's strength has become a fan-favorite scene from volume 1. This surprising element may add significantly to the story ahead in the upcoming episodes.

Will's visions help discover Vecna's plan to take more children from Hawkins to the Upside Down. While the Hawkins gang makes an elaborate rescue plan, things go out of hand as the Demogorgons reach them.

Chaos unfolds as the demons take away Vecna's next targets to the other dimension. Vecna's appearance further makes things difficult for the team. He also makes Will aware of his plans and Will's role in them. Mike, Lucas, and Robin are very close to getting attacked by the Demogorgons when things take a turn.

Realising that his friends were in danger, Will finds strength within himself, as Robin had told him before. Moved by his memories with his loved ones, Will gains superpowers much like the ones Vecna and Eleven have. In the climactic moments, Will leveraged his abilities, revealing a strength that surprised his closest friends. While volume 1 ended at this point, this creates an intriguing point that will impact the journey ahead for all the characters.
