In the finale of Season 1, Lucy learned of Vault-Tec's involvement in creating the Apocalypse. She also learned of the fact that her dad, Hank, had betrayed her when he had taken off for the Mojave.

The new full-length trailer for Fallout Season 2 reveals a more significant scope of the overall story by changing the setting and focusing on New Vegas while adapting some of the material featured in Fallout: New Vegas, one of the best-selling video games of the Fallout series. Fans can tune into Fallout Season 2 when it debuts on December 16, 2022, at 9:00 PM ET on Amazon Prime Video.

In the first season of Fallout, viewers are introduced to a world built on falsehoods after a nuclear cataclysm has decimated all but a handful of survivors. The protagonist, Lucy MacLean, leaves her secure home, Vault 33, in search of her kidnapped father.

As she travels outside the vault, she learns that the post-apocalyptic world has been formed by various factions and individuals who will do anything to survive, including genetic mutations and the emergence of brutal factions with immense power. During her journey, she meets the Ghoul, a cunning bounty hunter with questionable morals and a somewhat enigmatic background, and Maximus, a conflicted brotherhood member and soldier.

Viewers are also shown that Vault-Tec was involved in orchestrating the destruction of civilization through the implementation of their vault system in order to take control of humanity's future. Lucy discovers that her father, Hank, is one of the corporate benefactors who helped to wipe out entire communities to protect their financial interests.

As Season 1 concludes, Hank flees towards New Vegas while Lucy remains intent on stopping him, and the Ghoul seeks answers regarding his lost family. This sets up the focus of Fallout Season 2 on the Mojave Wasteland and the conflicts that arise from it.

Fallout Season 2 is set to premiere at 6 PM PT on Amazon Prime Video.
