Chicago P.D. season 13 episode 6 brings a Torres-centric episode, with Officer Dante Torres facing life-threatening danger and tough choices after getting entangled in a shocking conspiracy. Titled Send Me, the show's latest installment follows Torres being held hostage by a prisoner, Odell Morgan, who wants him to help prove that he's innocent and didn't kill his wife.

From Torres being a hostage earlier in the episode, the story evolves into Torres going out of his way to help Morgan uncover the truth about why his brother-in-law, Carter, framed him for the murder and who really killed his wife, Simone. But unlike Chicago P.D. cases, this one ends in a cliffhanger and an even bigger conspiracy.

Torres and Morgan don't find out who killed Morgan at the end of Chicago P.D. season 13 episode 6, and the person who can help them find the murderer is dead. But the quest to get to the bottom of the conspiracy and find out who murdered Simone is far from over for Officer Dante Torres.

While Torres' investigation about Simone's killer and the people who framed Morgan is far from over, Chicago P.D. season 13 episode 6 marks the end of Morgan. Even if Torres uncovers who the real murderer is, Morgan will not be around to know who it is, as he doesn't survive until episode 6.

He has sustained a gunshot wound in his abdomen, and while Torres has helped patch it for him, he has lost so much blood. But he knows the consequences when he refuses to go to the hospital and instead tracks down his brother-in-law, Carter, to see him face-to-face when he asks him why he lied and framed Morgan for Simone's death.

At the very least, one of his goals for escaping is fulfilled, which is getting the answer from Carter. With Carter's admission, he knows that Carter himself was threatened and forced to make the false confession that landed him in jail. But when Torres's cop friends arrive at Carter's home during the confrontation, it's already too late for Morgan. He dies in the hospital.

Will Torres continue investigating Morgan's case after Chicago P.D. season 13 episode 6?

All the ties to Morgan's case and Simone's death have died. Morgan is dead, and someone else has also removed Carter from the narrative. Carter admits that he doesn't know who Simone's killer is and that he has no idea who contacted him to lie and frame Morgan. But whether he could be of any help or not is besides the point because he's already dead.

Shortly after he's taken to the back of the police car, two shots rang out, and he's killed. Torres gets the news of Carter's death at the hospital around the same time he receives the news that Morgan didn't survive. However, Chicago P.D. season 13 episode 6 ends with him meeting Morgan's daughter, telling her that her father is innocent and that he will help.

It can only mean that Torres will continue the investigation, even if it wouldn't help Morgan anymore, but to serve justice where it's due. And even without any leads, the police are still looking for the shooter who killed Carter, and it could be the breakthrough in the case.

Other highlights in Chicago P.D. season 13 episode 6

It's Torres vs. conspiracy in Chicago P.D. season 13 episode 6, and more than the action, Torres' emotional arc throughout the case is one of the highlights in the episode. While he's essentially being taken hostage, Torres shows courage and has even built somewhat of a connection with Morgan.

The two of them talking about how it's fate that Morgan crashed into Torres' car at the exact moment adds emotional intensity to the storyline. Torres is torn between the decision to do the right thing, which is to turn Morgan in, and uncovering the truth behind the wrongful conviction, which adds depth.

Also, the team's trust and belief in each other is worth noting. It manifests in Hank Voight's decision to have the footage that shows Torres helping Morgan when he passes out deleted. Even without explanation, he has trust in Torres' judgement, believing that he knows what he's doing and there's a reason why he's doing it.
