Conservative commentator Candace Owens has recently made controversial and unverified claims about the September 10, 2025 assasination of right wing activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, posting what she described as a “major break” in the case on November 26, 2025.
In her posts on X (formerly Twitter), Owens alleged that a person “directly involved in the booking process” confirmed that a group she refers to as “Egyptians” stayed at a La Quinta Inn & Suites in Orem, Utah, in the days surrounding the shooting.
Her posts urged residents and businesses near the hotel’s University Parkway location to review surveillance footage from September 4 to September 13, 2025 and supply any relevant material.
"We are now looking for FOOTAGE of these individuals. If you own a store nearby and can check cameras or perhaps you work at La Quinta and you remember something odd. Someone it Utah may hold the key to solving this"
The claims follow weeks of unverified allegations from Candace Owens linking foreign actors to Charlie Kirk’s assassination and her own alleged assassination as reported by The Jerusalem Post on November 27, 2025.
More about Candace Owens' latest claims
Candace Owens’ November 26, 2025 claims were about what she described as new information from an unnamed insider connected to the “booking process.” According to her post, the individuals that she has repeatedly labeled as “Egyptians” reportedly flew into Provo on September 4, 2025 and stayed at the La Quinta Inn & Suites on University Parkway in Orem until September 13. 2025.
Candace Owens provided no proof whatsoever to support this “major break”, as with earlier unverified allegations she has made over the past several days.
She appealed to local employees and business owners to examine any available camera footage from the period, adding that stores in the vicinity might “hold the key to solving this.” A follow-up message hinted at suspicions about law enforcement involvement.
As The Jerusalem Post reported, Candace Owens reiterated these claims hours later, again urging Utah residents to submit surveillance clips or receipts to her team. Her posts were presented as crowd-sourced investigative leads rather than verified findings, and she did not publish any corroborating material. Authorities have issued no comment on her claims or the existence of any such individuals.
Candace Owens’ latest posts seem to reflect her ongoing involvement in the public aftermath of Kirk’s assassination. As The Jerusalem Post noted, she has previously inserted herself into the case by releasing private messages in October in which Charlie Kirk criticized Jewish donors and wrote that he had “no choice but to leave the pro-Israel cause.” Those leaks, published after his death, contributed to tensions within conservative circles, where Kirk had long been a high-profile figure.
Candace Owens has also addressed accusations that she is exploiting Kirk’s death. According to the Jerusalem Post, she rejected the idea that she is profiting from the tragedy, contrasting her podcast operations with Turning Point USA’s fundraising efforts and positioning her push for answers as a form of public accountability.
She added that even an official denial from authorities would be “good for humanity,” saying it would help determine “how deep this thing goes.”
While her claims have drawn support from some followers, they have also prompted skepticism, especially given her history of making unverified allegations targeting foreign governments, religious figures, and political leaders.
