Megyn Kelly criticized Jennifer Lopez’s wardrobe choices during a high-profile performance at an Indian billionaire’s wedding. During the November 26, 2025, episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, she stressed her concern, saying:

“Why won’t Jennifer Lopez wear clothing?… It’s just like two horizontal stripes over her backside and then one over the front side. And you can see virtually everything,” Megyn Kelly said.

For context, as Page Six reported, Jennifer Lopez was paid $2 million to perform at the lavish wedding of Netra Mantena, the daughter of billionaire Rama Raju Mantena, and tech entrepreneur Vamsi Gadiraju.

The 56-year-old entertainer performed hits such as Waiting for Tonight and Get Right while wearing a series of outfits on stage. As per the report, Lopez wore a black cut-out bodysuit first. She later changed into a shimmering gold ensemble paired with a matching jacket, before finishing the night in a bejeweled bodysuit and crystal-covered knee-high boots.

Referring to these outfits in her video, Kelly, along with commentator Benny Johnson, questioned the motivation behind Jennifer Lopez's styling choices at a formal, high-profile wedding event.

Kelly emphasized that Jennifer Lopez’s age was not the problem, noting that she “looked good,” but argued that wearing actual clothing, even “just a little”, should be expected.

“Explain this to me. She’s 56. I think she’s almost 57 now. She went to perform at some billionaire’s wedding in India… I’m not begrudging her looking good at her age. But I’m in favor of clothing just a little,” Megyn Kelly said.

During the aforementioned episode, Megyn Kelly played short clips of Lopez from the event, prompting a wider conversation about aging, modesty, and changing cultural expectations surrounding female performers.

Benny Johnson reacted to the footage, arguing that Lopez’s costumes felt out of step with her age and public image. Johnson suggested that Lopez’s styling relied too heavily on revealing clothing rather than embracing what he viewed as a more natural approach to aging.

To illustrate his point, he emphasized that true beauty does not depend on “how much skin you can show.” He further argued that, in a digital era saturated with artificial or hypersexualized imagery, overt sexualization has become “less valuable than ever.”

“I don’t get it...you know, act your age….Um, there’s nothing more beautiful than a woman who is aging gracefully because beauty doesn’t have to do with like how much skin you can show. And in a world of synthetics and only fans and AI and, you know, clap traps all throughout the internet, it it’s less it’s less valuable than ever,” he explained.

Kelly also addressed one of Lopez’s outfits featured in the performance clips, where the singer wore a bodysuit paired with crystal-covered knee-high boots. She described the bodysuit as resembling a “backward thong,” calling it “ridiculous.” However, according to her, it was among the “more modest outfits” that JLo wore for her performance.

Benny Johnson then brought up Melania Trump as an example of elegance grounded in subtlety.

He pointed out that the day before, Melania had welcomed the “Christmas tree to the White House,” and for the event, she wore “multiple heavy layers,” yet still looked like the “most beautiful woman on earth.” Kelly agreed, adding that the First Lady's “Christmas plaid Manolos” and refined ensemble were a demonstration of “classic beauty.”

Jennifer Lopez is currently preparing for her role in the upcoming Netflix film, The Last Mrs. Parrish, scheduled to release late 2026 or early 2027.

On the other hand, Megyn Kelly continues to host The Megyn Kelly Show, a daily talk show and podcast on SiriusXM’s Triumph channel.
