Tech billionaire Elon Musk recently sat with Indian businessman and podcaster Nikhil Kamath for an interview. In the episode, aired on Sunday, Musk touched on the issue of population decline. SpaceX founder and father to 14 children also discussed his kids. In the conversation, Elon Musk revealed that the middle name of one of his sons is "Sekhar," named after the physicist Chandrasekhar.

According to Britannica, Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar was an Indian-born American astrophysicist. He won the Nobel Prize in 1983 for his discoveries in the field of stellar evolution. The astrophysicist stated that any star that contains more mass than 1.44 times that of the Sun will not become a white dwarf but rather turn into a neutron star following a supernova explosion. This number is popularly known as the "Chandrasekhar limit."

In the interview, Musk said:

According to PEOPLE, Elon Musk shares two sons and two daughters with his company's executive Shivon Zilis. However, in the interview, he did not mention which son he named after Chandrasekhar.

Elon Musk also revealed that he loves to spend time with his children. When Nikhil Kamath asked him to share the best things about kids, Musk responded:

"I mean, you've got this little creature that loves you, and you love this little creature. I don't know, you kind of see the world through their eyes as they...you know, as they grow up."

"Big problem"- Elon Musk expresses concern about population decline

The podcast host sought Musk's views on aging and the declining population. Musk, who has remained a strong advocate of population growth, said he didn’t want humanity to disappear and expressed his opinion that, if the trend continued, it could lead to that outcome.

"I mean, I do worry about the population decline. This is a big, big problem... I don't want humanity to disappear. Well, if the trend continues, we disappear." Musk stated.

The Tesla CEO further said that a larger population would lead to increased consciousness among the population. He opined that with an increased population, humanity would be more likely to understand the answers to the nature of the universe.

"I mean, just like consciousness increases from a single-celled creature to, you know, a 30 trillion-celled creature. We're more conscious than a bacteria. At least, it seems that way. So, a larger human population will have increased consciousness," he added.

While answering Kamath's question on the best thing about having children, Elon Musk also stated:

"I think we fundamentally have to... have kids or grow extinct."

Elsewhere in the episode, the podcaster asked the xAI founder whether he was open to adopting more kids. Musk said that although he was not against the idea, he wanted to spend more time with his kids. He playfully said, "I definitely have my hands full right now."

In the two-hour-long episode, Elon Musk shared his thoughts on the value of money. He suggested that in the future it might be of no value. He also spoke about the advancements in AI and its regulation.
