Who is Olivia Nuzzi? Exploring her alleged affair with RFK Jr. after Matt Walsh picks her old post as the "WORST-aged tweet in journalism history"

Conservative political commentator Matt Walsh blasts Olivia Nuzzi after her upcoming book and her ex-fiancé's accusations made headlines this week.

For the unversed, Olivia Nuzzi is a journalist who stirred a controversy last year for an alleged digital romantic relationship with RFK Jr. According to People, Nuzzi was born in 1993 in New York. She began her journalistic career with The Daily Beast in 2014. She later joined New York Magazine as its Washington correspondent.

However, she left the magazine after she admitted to its editors about her alleged "personal relationship" with RFK Jr. in September 2024. She later joined Vanity Fair as its West Coast Editor. She got engaged to Politico's Washington Correspondent Ryan Lizza in 2022.

In a September 2024 press release, New York magazine shared that Olivia Nuzzi "acknowledged" to her editors that she had engaged in a "personal relationship" with a "former subject" while covering the politician's campaign. Many media reports stated that the "subject" was allegedly RFK Jr. After this, she parted ways with the publication.

Now, a year later, Nuzzi is all set to release her book American Canto on December 2. She seemingly addressed her romantic relationship in her new book. On November 14, excerpts from the book were published in Vanity Fair. Notably, her ex-fiancé made cheating allegations against her in a Telos article.

Matt Walsh slammed the journalist in his November 19 podcast. In his video titled "This Might Be the WORST-Aged Tweet in Journalism History," the Daily Wire host discussed an old tweet of Nuzzi. Walsh picked Olivia Nuzzi's 2015 X (then Twitter) post in which she wrote, "Why does Hollywood think female reporters sleep with their sources?"

Taking a shot at Nuzzi, Matt Walsh said,

"She was calling out all those lazy, cliche-obsessed writers in Hollywood... Well, unfortunately for her bold proclamation, Olivia went on to become a journalist. And in that capacity, she didn't simply prove the old stereotype true about how women sleep with their sources. She acted like that stereotype was one of the Ten Commandments."

The right-wing podcaster mentioned last year's news reports of Olivia Nuzzi's alleged romantic relationship with RFK Jr. and said it was a "clear conflict of interest."

"Newsie had been assigned to cover RFK's campaign. She wrote an article that was highly critical of Joe Biden. And the whole time she was engaged in some kind of inappropriate relationship with RFK Jr.," Walsh said.

Matt Walsh also reported that Olivia Nuzzi's ex-fiancé, Ryan Lizza, recently published an "exposé." The podcaster noted that Lizza alleged that his ex had a "s*xual relationship" with MSNBC host Keith Olbermann. Nuzzi's ex also accused her of having an alleged relationship with former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford.

Matt Walsh pulled another old tweet made by Nuzzi from 2019. In the post, she talked about her interview with Mark Sanford. Reacting to the post, a user commented that Sanford looked happy. Replying to the comment, Nuzzi wrote, "I tend to have that effect." Linking the Nuzzi's comment with Lizza's allegations, Matt Walsh remarked,

"Well, now we know what she meant by that."

Further in his podcast, Matt Walsh read the excerpt from Olivia Nuzzi's upcoming book and called it "very poorly written." He defined American Canto as "self-serious" and "melodramatic" in nature.
