Candace Owens claimed that French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, had allegedly "paid" for her "assassination." Earlier this year, the first couple of France filed a defamation lawsuit against the American podcaster for making claims that Brigitte Macron was born a man.
Amid the ongoing legal dispute, Owens dropped a tweet on November 21 and wrote that a "high-ranking employee of the French Government" provided her with "concrete proof" that French President Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte Macron want her "dead."
"Two days ago I was contracted by a high ranking employee of the French Government. After determining this person’s position and proximity to the French couple, I have deemed the information they gave me to be credible enough to share publicly in the event that something happens. In short, this person claims that the Macrons have executed upon and paid for my assassination. Yes, you read that correctly," Owens tweeted.
Adding to her accusation, Candace Owens claimed that the first couple of France allegedly assigned this task to a "small team in National Gendarmerie Intervention Group."
She claimed that the plans were formalized and were "placed within the French government apparatus."
"I am told there is one Israeli that is on this assasination squad and the plans were formalized. Again, this person provided concrete proof that they are well placed within the French government apparatus," she added.
For the unversed, Candace Owens created a podcast series, Becoming Brigitte, in which she made the claim that Brigitte Macron was born a man. She also made other controversial remarks against the French president and his wife. However, Owens has maintained that her assertions were based on French journalist Xavier Poussard's book.
In her Friday tweet, she alleged that Xavier Poussard's life was also at "risk."
"Journalist Xavier Poussard’s life is also at risk. This is deadly serious. The head of state of France apparently wants us both dead and has authorized professional units to carry this out," Owens posted.
She went on to say that leaders in American government were "aware" of this fact. Candace Owens said that she had "definitively verifiable" information to provide, should anyone in the government choose to reach out to her.
Candace Owens raises suspicions about link between Charlie Kirk’s assassination and her Brigitte Macron series
In her November 20 podcast episode, Candace Owens claimed that TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet allegedly called her after Charlie Kirk's murder and said, "Candace, it was supposed to be you."
Referring to her Becoming Brigitte series, she said:
"I know that many of you guys were wondering whether or not Charlie's assassination was meant to distract us from the Brigitte Macron investigation and rightfully so. That is a fair question because, as you guys know, it was Charlie Kirk that called me and told me that they wanted me to stop speaking about Brigitte."
She went on to present a timeline of events starting from when she first made her controversial comments against Brigitte Macron. Candace Owens attempted to draw a connection between her investigative podcast coverage and Kirk's murder.
In her Friday tweet about an alleged threat from the First Couple of France, Candace Owens again referenced a French connection to Kirk's assassination.
"Further to this point, this person [her alleged source in the French Government] claims that Charlie Kirk’s assassin trained with the French Legion 13th Brigade with multi-state involvement," she claimed.
Candace Owens claimed that the French official provided her with the alleged information because "they were so moved by the evil of Charlie’s public execution."
Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte Macron filed the lawsuit against Owens in an American court in July this year.
