"So, so horrifying": Perez Hilton reacts to Delarosa's recent demise in “ambush-style” shootout

Perez Hilton reacted to the death of 22-year-old Latin singer Maria de la Rosa, known professionally as Delarosa, after authorities confirmed she had been killed in what they described as an “ambush-style shootout” in Northbridge. Writing in a November 25, 2025, article on his website, Hilton recounted details of the incident while citing from a TMZ November 25 report.

As per Hilton, TMZ reported that the singer had been “out in the San Fernando Valley with two pals,” one male and one female, over the weekend when the attack occurred.

He then explained that investigators believed two suspects suddenly approached the vehicle before opening fire, leaving the rising singer fatally wounded.

“While they were in the car, it’s reported two Hispanic men wearing gray hoodies allegedly ran up and opened fire into the vehicle. De la Rosa was fatally struck and rushed to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead…So, so horrifying,” Perez Hilton explained.

Hilton also highlighted the ages investigators were attributing to the suspects, explaining that dispatch audio suggested they were extremely young.

“The two male suspects are said to be between the ages of 15-20 years old, per dispatch audio of the incident obtained by the outlet,” the podcaster reported.

What else did Perez Hilton say about Maria Delarosa's murder?

In the aforementioned website article, Perez Hilton shared additional details about the killing of Maria Delarosa. In the piece, he summarized information provided by investigators and highlighted Delarosa’s rising career shortly before her death.

Perez Hilton first explained that the Los Angeles Police Department had confirmed the shooters had fled the scene before investigators arrived, and that officers recovered physical evidence, including ammunition, which pointed to the type of weapon used.

“Per the LAPD, the two suspects are still at large. They also revealed that they found 9mm bullets at the scene of the crime,” he wrote.

Hilton also emphasized that the singer's family expressed strong confidence in the police investigation.

“De la Rosa’s family say they’re confident the police can find the shooters, as they allegedly have plenty of footage from the incident, including nearby Ring cameras,” he said.

Beyond the details of the crime, Perez Hilton highlighted Delarosa’s growing influence in the Latin music scene.

He described her as a “young musician” who was “up-and-coming in the Latin music scene,” noting that her most popular release was No Me Llames, which debuted in August 2025. He also explained that, according to her recent social media activity, she had been preparing to release new music before her death.

One of her final Instagram posts, written on October 30, reflected her focus on an upcoming project. This final Instagram post, written in Spanish, was captioned:

Reflecting on the tragedy, Hilton expressed sorrow and called for justice.

“Such a horrifying situation. We hope police are able to find her killers and bring her to justice. May Maria rest in peace,” he wrote.

As per an NBC News report, the authorities formally confirmed Delarosa’s death on Monday, November 25.

The report also added that on the following day, Officer K. Terzes clarified that the two people who had been with the singer at the time “appeared to have been injured,” though their conditions were not yet released.

At present, an investigation into Delarosa’s murder is ongoing. The police have not named any suspect, and the motive too remains a mystery.
