Conservative podcaster Candace Owens made some big accusations against the French President and his wife two weeks ago. In her November 21 X post, Owens stated that the Macrons had allegedly paid for her assassination. The podcaster also claimed that French Legionnaires were involved in TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk's murder.

In her previous tweets, she asserted that she had provided the relevant information to the White House and the federal government. On November 23, in a X post, Candace Owens noted the French Legionnaires were in the US for a military exercise with the Marines, weeks before Kirk's assassination. She added that after the training with the Marines concluded, French forces took part in another exercise at "Camp Riley" in Minnesota.

On November 27, Euro News reported that a spokesperson for the French Ministry of Armed Forces dismissed Owens' claims in a statement.

"There was no Foreign Legion training at Camp Riley in Minnesota between 25 August and 10 September 2025. The training that took place in California ended on 25 August 2025," the statement read.

Candace Owens reacted to the French ministry's response in the Monday episode of her podcast. She read a report from France 24, which stated that no exercise at "Riley camp" took place because there was no such place. The report added that, instead, there is a National Guard "Ripley Camp" in the state and questioned Owens' alleged source's credibility.

In the episode, the political commentator acknowledged that it was a "typo." However, she slammed the ministry's dismissal of her claims due to a spelling error.

"That's how they're debunking it. A typo. I put 'Riley,' not 'Ripley.' And they can now confirm that the French Legion did not take part in any exercise at Camp Riley cuz it doesn't exist... So now you should just assume that everything else the source said is debunked. This is what you call a non-debunking debunk, a Snopes-level debunking over a typo," Candace Owens commented.

She stated that her "making a spelling error" was the "perfect way for them to attack the broader story."

"Quite a way to dance around things"- Candace Owens comments on the French Ministry's claims about Tyler Robinson

The French ministry spokesperson said in the statement that Charlie Kirk's murder suspect, Tyler Robinson, was never a part of the French Foreign Legion. According to Euro News, the released statement read,

"If he did not serve in an American military unit, he could not have been trained by the French Foreign Legion."

Candace Owens again challenged the relevance of the statement and said she never claimed that Robinson was a part of Legionnaires.

"That's quite a way to dance around things... I see what you did there. You just missed the fact that we don't think Tyler Robinson did... This is bogus... Do you mind answering yes or no if anybody who trained with the French Foreign Legion was on the ground on September 10th at Utah Valley University," Candace Owens said.

The political commentator stated that she found it strange that UVU students allegedly said that "they didn't recognize anybody" who was present at the event. Owens claimed that there was a "bunch of adults," insinuating that they might be a part of the Foreign Legion.

Candace Owens also stated in her podcast that she received no response from the FBI on her allegations. Earlier, she claimed that the White House had confirmed the "receipts" of her claims.

The conservative podcaster has already been facing a defamation lawsuit from the Macrons. In July this year, the First Couple of France sued Owens for claiming that Brigitte Macron was born a man.
