"Jeez. That’s cold": Perez Hilton reacts to TikToker Nikalie Monroe calling churches, including Charlie Kirk’s, to see who’ll feed a starving baby

Pop culture podcaster Perez Hilton reacted to viral videos by TikToker Nikalie Monroe, in which she sought help from churches as part of a social experiment. Over the weekend, Monroe's videos made the rounds on the internet, showing her contacting multiple churches to request baby food while pretending to be a struggling mother of a two-month-old baby.

In his November 10 blog, Perez Hilton discussed the social experiment conducted by the content creator. The blogger noted that Monroe did the experiment at a time when "so many people" had reportedly not received their SNAP benefits. Hilton highlighted the responses Nikalie Monroe received from different churches.

Multiple religious institutions reportedly failed to provide the help she requested. Reacting to it, the podcaster commented:

"Jeez. That’s cold."

Perez Hilton shared that the social media influencer also contacted Charlie Kirk's Dream City Church, located in Phoenix. The church reportedly referred the woman pretending to be a mother to a food bank.

Hilton added that when Nikalie Monroe informed them she had already called, and the bank told her they did not have the formula. The TikToker's call was reportedly diverted to higher authorities, who didn't pick up her call. Perez Hilton stated that when Monroe attempted to call again, she was "immediately put on hold."

By the time Hilton blogged, the TikToker had asked for help from 43 churches, and only 10 of them showed willingness to help.

"That’s 33 establishments that have turned a mother and newborn baby in need away! Wow. That’s so disheartening," Perez Hilton reacted.

Perez Hilton details the responses Nikalie Monroe received from churches

Nikalie Monroe posted a series of videos showing responses from multiple churches. The celebrity influencer detailed the reactions from the different churches in his blog. In one of the clips, the TikToker was heard calling the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Knoxville, Tennessee. On the call, Monroe explained:

"I have a two-month-old baby and I ran out of formula last night and so she’s not eaten since last night, and she is starving. I was wanting to see if there’s any way y’all could help get formula for her."

The podcaster reported that the Church's receptionist said that she was from the "main office" and would not be able to help her. The receptionist reportedly advised her to call other churches.

Mentioning another clip, Perez Hilton said that the content creator also contacted First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi. However, she reportedly was put on hold and greeted with a prerecorded message that said:

"You have reached the Metro Assistance Ministry at First Baptist Jackson. Because of limited resources, we are no longer able to accept new applications."

The blogger mentioned that as a part of her social experiment, Nikalie Monroe reached out to "some very well-known" churches like Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. The megachurch reportedly told Monroe that it has a "benevolence ministry" for such requests. However, her request filing could reportedly take "a few days or weeks."

"And that’s a big IF. That ain’t helpful to a starving baby who needs food urgently! And this is coming from a church that was estimated to have $59 million in net assets in 2019, according to Fox Business! They’ve got the money to spare on some formula!" He added.

Later in the blog, Hilton said that all wasn't "depressing," and Heritage Hope Church of God in Somerset, Kentucky, agreed to help Nikalie Monroe. The TikToker explained to the church about her social experiment.

According to a TMZ clip, the small church in Somerset that had agreed to provide baby formula received more than $75,000 for its food pantry after Monroe’s video surfaced online.
