On Wednesday, Erika Kirk cryptically blasted Candace Owens for dragging TPUSA's name into Charlie Kirk's assassination. A day later, CBS posted a clip from its town hall event that would air on December 13. Bari Weiss would host Erika Kirk in this interview. In the shared clip, Weiss asked TPUSA CEO what she would like to convey to Owens. Charlie Kirk's widow responded:
"Stop. That's it. That's all I have to say. Stop."
The clip went viral on the internet, as earlier, in her podcast, Candace Owens stated that she would stop making claims if Erika Kirk asked her to do so. The former Daily Wire host responded in her Thursday podcast episode.
"So Erika would like me to stop lying, and I would like to honor that. Okay. I can only honor that if Erika is more explicit in terms of what I have lied about. What did I lie about?" Owens stated.
The political commentator said that she might have made a mistake, and her goal was not to "tell lies." However, she added that she had reviewed her allegations and couldn't "find a lie."
The podcaster claimed that the show was scripted and that there were multiple retakes as the host wanted to "read a prompter." She also alleged that the questions in this interview were presubmitted. Elsewhere in the episode, Owens referred to Erika Kirk's interview as a "PR campaign" and said that she would not accept "emotional manipulation."
"I guess this is kind of the final stop. I'm hoping it's the final stop of this PR campaign where they are now pivoting and bringing Erika out to signal to the public that we can't question her judgment, right? Because she's a widow. We can't question her judgment. And I want to say that I reject that. I reject emotional manipulation," Owens commented.
Candace Owens further addresses allegations against her
The podcaster lashed out at Bari Weiss, the editor-in-chief of CBS News, who conducted Erika Kirk's interview. Candace Owens called her a "Tel Aviv agent" and questioned her merit. In the released clip of the upcoming interview, Weiss could be heard accusing Owens of "building her business off of these lies." Responding to it, the podcaster said:
"What are you talking about? I already had this business. I was already at top of the chart. Okay, I said I wasn't going to talk about it. I actually did because it's so ridiculous."
In her previous podcast, Candace Owens presented an alleged list of "verifiable lies" told by TPUSA. In the Thursday episode, she brought up that list and asked others to challenge her claims.
Later in the day, Erika Kirk also sat down for an interview with Glenn Beck. In this conversation, Beck asked TPUSA's CEO whether she was concerned about a tainted jury pool. Erika Kirk replied that many people "don't know how an actual trial plays out." She added that social media could impact the case. Reacting to it, Candace Owens commented:
"If we don't want to answer any questions, we're just going to say you don't understand how the court works. You shouldn't be asking questions because that's going to that could potentially ruin the upcoming trial."
Previously, on Wednesday's episode of her podcast, Candace Owens remarked that Erika Kirk was going through "Meghan Markle Syndrome." She called out Charlie Kirk's wife for posting a clip while crying over her husband's casket.
