Elon Musk has responded to Gavin Newsom's claim about his efforts for the "pro trans legislation". He referenced his transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, labeling it a "mental illness".

A post by the handle @america on X (formerly Twitter) on December 11 showed a part of Gavin Newsom's conversation about trans legislation. The Governor of California said:

“I want to see trans kids... There’s no governor that’s done more pro trans legislation than I have.”

The Governor Newsom Press Office shared that post and wrote in the caption:

"Correct. We’re sorry your daughter hates you, Elon."

Musk then responded to this post on December 12, writing:

"I assume you’re referring to my son, Xavier, who has a tragic mental illness caused by the evil woke mind virus you push on vulnerable children. I love Xavier very much and hope he recovers. My daughters are Azure, Exa (she goes by Y) and Arcadia, and they do indeed love me very much."

This is in reference to Elon Musk's transgender daughter, Vivian, who was named Xavier after her birth. She was born to Musk's first wife, Justine Wilson, before the couple divorced in 2008. Vivian has a twin brother named Griffin, while Musk and Wilson also gave birth to triplets: Damian, Kai, and Saxon.

Elon Musk's transgender daughter reportedly changed her name from Xavier to Vivian in 2022. She filed a motion for name change and a new birth certificate in April 2022 at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica. During the filing, she wrote:

"I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form."

Meanwhile, in an interview with NBC News, published on July 26, 2024, she slammed Elon Musk for his comments. The Tesla owner had claimed that Vivian was “not a girl” and that she was allegedly "tricked" into trans-related medical treatment.

Responding to these comments, Vivian said:

“I think he was under the assumption that I wasn’t going to say anything and I would just let this go unchallenged. Which I’m not going to do, because if you’re going to lie about me, like, blatantly to an audience of millions, I’m not just gonna let that slide.”

“He was cold. He’s very quick to anger. He is uncaring and narcissistic,” she added.

She recalled an incident from her fourth grade, where the billionaire allegedly yelled at her, as she said:

“I was in fourth grade. We went on this road trip that I didn’t know was actually just an advertisement for one of the cars — I don’t remember which one — and he was constantly yelling at me viciously because my voice was too high. It was cruel.”

She added that she was an independent adult and didn't want to be defined by others' choices. Meanwhile, Musk claimed that he "lost his son" and that Vivian was “dead, killed by the woke mind virus.”

The Tesla owner has two more children with singer Grimes: X Æ A-Xii and Exa Dark Sideræl (goes by Y).
