Candace Owens recently debunked claims that she faked her text messages with Charlie Kirk after being accused of photoshopping the images. For the uninitiated, Owens has publicly posted several screenshots of her text messages with Charlie Kirk following his assassination on September 10, 2025. One text thread saw the two excitedly tweeting about Nicki Minaj and rap music, while another text thread seemingly showed Kirk predicting his own death.

On November 7, 2025, X user Frank McCormick took to X to claim that Owens had photoshopped text messages from Kirk. This came after Owens posted multiple screenshots of her conversation with the late conservative activist about Ben Shapiro. For context, Owens had previously worked in Shapiro's The Daily Wire between 2021 and 2024, and parted ways with the media outlet after clashing with Shapiro about the Hamas attack in Israel.

In his X post, McCormick claimed that he ran the screenshots through ChatGPT. He alleged that he found differences when compared to the "real iMessage UI design patterns, typography, and layout structure," accusing Owens of fabricating them.

On November 10, 2025, Candace Owens responded to the allegations during the latest episode of her show. She dismissed the claims, calling them "nonsense," and showed the timestamps of her text messages with Kirk as proof.

"These are just real. What an absolute nonsense to think I would make up text messages, like, it's just such a nonsense. What would be the point of that? What would be the point of that? I was very clear at the beginning of this entire thing. No fakeness and no gayness," she said.

Candace Owens continued:

"You know, I ask that if you didn't get along with Charlie, you don't think you can just drop a million dollars and rewrite history. Okay? You might have money, we have truth. That's what's on our side."

Ben Shapiro criticized Candace Owens for her conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk's death

On November 6, 2025, Ben Shapiro asked Megyn Kelly why she did not criticize Candace Owens for her conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk's death when he appeared at the last stop of her tour.

For the uninitiated, Owens alleged that Kirk's death was part of a federal cover-up. She also claimed that she did not believe Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old man arrested for Kirk's death, was behind the assassination.

Speaking to Kelly, Shapiro said that Owen's theories about Kirk's assassination were "evil," claiming that the Candace podcast host had alleged that Erika Kirk had her husband murdered.

"But if this were on the left and somebody were accusing Charlie Kirk of his wife having murdered him, I assume that you would be talking about it,” Shapiro told Kelly.

Candace Owens accused Shapiro of lying in a subsequent X post, writing:

"Ben Shapiro took the stage last night with @megynkelly and lied through his teeth. He said that I accused Erika Kirk of murdering Charlie Kirk. This quite literally is made up out of thin air. Looking forward to responding to him on my show later today."

During a recent episode of her show, livestreamed on November 8, Candace Owens revisited Ben Shapiro and shared multiple screenshots of her text messages with Charlie Kirk regarding Shapiro.

In the text thread, Kirk allegedly texted Owens that she was "bigger" than Shapiro, adding that she got into his head. Kirk also allegedly told Owens to treat Shapiro like "noise," writing that The Daily Wire co-founder viewed Owens "as [Kirk's] slave."

In other news, Candace Owens claimed that Charlie Kirk predicted his own death. During a podcast episode that aired in October, she included screenshots of her text thread with Kirk, dated April 6, 2018. Kirk had allegedly texted her, “I am not sure if I will live to see the end of this revolution.”

Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in the neck while attending an event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.
