Candace Owens' conspiracy theories surrounding Charlie Kirk's death grew as the podcaster recently claimed that Turning Point USA insisted Kirk's event be held outdoors despite safety concerns from Utah Valley University (UVU). For the uninitiated, Kirk was fatally shot while attending a Turning Point USA event as part of "The American Comeback Tour" at UVU on September 10, 2025.

During a recent episode of her show, which was livestreamed on November 12, 2025, Candace Owens claimed that UVU recommended to Turning Point USA that they avoid holding the event at the outdoor amphitheater for "safety reasons." She alleged that the university told Turning Point that they would not be able to control the flow of traffic if the event was held outdoors, saying:

"UVU recommended to Turning Point that they not hold the event in the amphitheatre because of safety reasons. 'Not a good idea because we can't shut this area down. It's not a good idea because there's no control here. We cannot control the flow of traffic coming in and out of this amphitheatre.'"

However, Turning Point USA allegedly "insisted" that the event be held outdoors, which Owens claimed was one of the many things that struck her as "odd."

"But, Turning Point insisted that that was where they wanted to have the event. It was because Turning Point insisted, that the event wasn't held outside." Now, I can tell you, having done these events, that was the first thing, among many, that struck me as odd, that anyone could just walk into...that's the whole point of safety," she said.

Candace Owens further questioned which specific Turning Point employee had chosen the outdoor venue, adding that she wanted to know and would know the truth.

"Turning Point insisted on having the event outside despite UVU saying they did not, they communicated to them, they did not think the outside was the best idea because of safety reasons. So my question now is which specific Turning Point employees went down and picked that venue outside? I want to know, in fact, I need to know, and I will know," she said.

Candace Owens alleged that she did not believe Tyler Robinson killed Charlie Kirk

Candace Owens has been peddling various conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk's death on her self-titled show. During a recent interview with CNN correspondent Elle Reeve, Owens claimed that she did not believe Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old man presumed to be Kirk's shooter, killed him.

During the interview, which aired on November 7, Owens claimed that the Feds faked the messages between Robinson and his partner, where Robinson seemingly confessed to having killed Kirk. According to RadarOnline, this came after Reeve asked Owens what she meant when she had claimed that Kirk was "betrayed" by someone close to him, to which Owens replied:

“I think that in the coming weeks there's going to be a lot of financial reports that are coming out and I first and foremost do not believe that Tyler Robinson killed Charlie Kirk. I want to be very clear on that. Whether he was involved, I think the answer is yes. I think that's obvious.”

When Reeve asked Owens to explain the basis of her theory, Owens brought up the messages, claiming they were "concocted out of thin air that had no timestamp and were written like they were speaking in 1822." Reeve then asked Candace Owens if she had any proof that the messages were faked, with Owens replying that the messages had no timestamps, and Discord, the instant messaging social platform, denied their existence.

Reeve then added that the messages were "supposedly text messages, not Discord messages," as per the indictment, to which Owens said she "did not read that they were text messages." When Reeve asked her whether she believed that the Feds were typing out the messages "back and forth," Owens stated that the "Feds made up the text messages," adding that she had "leaks" to back her claims.

Following the interview, Candace Owens took to X to claim that CNN had ignored her request not to talk about Charlie Kirk's death during the interview. However, CNN posted an email from Owens' team that showed the podcaster was willing to discuss Kirk in a "tasteful" manner and answer one or two questions about him.

This is not the first time Candace Owens has criticized Turning Point USA in the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination. During an October episode of her show, Candace Owens suggested that she wanted "war" with Turning Point USA and everyone present at Kirk's assassination, saying:

“So allow me to be very explicit. Okay. I want war with all of you. Okay. All of you. And there's a reason I'm going to get to that reason a little bit. I want more with all of you. So write your articles, issue your statements, email the White House, reach out for comments. Okay.”

She further added that there was nothing anyone could say to convince her that what happened was "normal," saying that they were "going to figure out what the hell happened on September 10th.”
