In the latest turn in Candace Owens’s ongoing public conflict with the French presidential couple, Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron, the commentator has released a detailed set of claims on her social-media account.

This case was further aggravated when Candace Owens took to her X profile on November 22, 2025, to reveal what she termed "serious" and "urgent" information given to her by a French government source.

The source contacted her privately, 2 days before she went public. She claimed that she had personally confirmed the person's government position and their proximity to the Macron couple before deciding to share the information publicly.

On X, Candace Owens wrote that this person told her about an assassination plan supposedly ordered by the Macrons. She also wrote that the plan entailed a “small team” within the National Gendarmerie Intervention Group, as per the source, and allegedly involved one Israeli agent.

Owens pointed out that the person had provided evidence about their activities within the French government, which she claimed was adequate to allow her to consider the information valid.

Owens further alleged that the informant informed her that the man supposedly convicted of murdering Charlie Kirk had trained with the French Foreign Legion’s 13th Brigade, suggesting what she called "multi-state involvement." She also claimed that the life of the French journalist, Xavier Poussard, was also in danger and that the French head of state "wants us both dead."

"Journalist Xavier Poussard’s life is also at risk. This is deadly serious. The head of state of France apparently wants us both dead and has authorized professional units to carry this out."

She concluded the post by asking people to share extensively and said that she did not know which American officials she could trust with the information.

Candace Owens’ claims and the Macron legal response

Podcaster Candace Owens has been a part of a high-profile legal and reputational battle with French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron. On July 23, 2025, they filed a 219-page defamation lawsuit in Delaware Superior Court against her.

The case revolves around the assertions made by Owens, specifically in her eight-part podcast series, Becoming Brigitte. She alleged that Brigitte Macron was born male, under the name Jean-Michel Trogneux. She further claimed that the Macrons had engaged in a scheme of deception consisting of identity theft, incest, and mind-control conspiracy theories.

The complaint filed by the Macrons accuses Owens of disseminating these allegedly false and defamatory accounts to increase her media presence, achieve notoriety, and generate revenue. The lawsuit claimed that she described Brigitte Macron in that episode as "a very goofy man."

Owens' spokesperson, Mitchell Jackson, has reacted to this, however, by characterizing the suit as a violation of her First Amendment rights, with her camp calling it a "foreign government attacking the First Amendment rights of an American independent journalist."
