Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone previously opened up overcoming fatigue and the occasional feeling of being unmotivated for training. The Olympic champion sprinter mentioned in a conversation with her fans at the TCS New York Marathon as she said,
"It can definitely be tiring for sure after long practices, but I think just sleeping and recovery is very helpful for that. Eating enough, drinking enough, getting enough sleep. But I think sometimes when I start to feel tired and fatigued mentally, I just remind myself that it is one day at a time and just taking one moment at a time, not getting overwhelmed, and ultimately I am grateful that I pushed through that moment."
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone experimented with the women's 400m event this year, making her 400m debut at the World Championships in Tokyo. The reigning world record holder in women's 400m hurdles almost broke the world record in women's 400m with a new Championship record of 47.78 seconds in the women's 400m finals at the World Championships in Tokyo.
