Alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin recently opened up about the hate surrounding the relationship with her fiancé, Norwegian alpine skier Aleksander Kilde. Kilde had recently joined Shiffrin for a podcast session on 'What's The Point with Mikaela Shiffrin'.

Mikaela Shiffrin shared a clip of her interaction with her fiancé on Instagram. During the interaction, the Olympic champion alpine skier mentioned how people viewed their relationship, and how some people even suggested she pack her bags.

Mikaela Shiffrin explained her point further as she mentioned,

"It's funny to read the insights that people have about our relationship, and just like, aggressive. Some people get aggressive, and honestly, a lot of people, I don't know if they do this for you, but a lot of people tell me it's time for you to retire. Just go be with Aleks."

Aleksander nodded in agreement as he added,

"Yeah, and have kids."

Mikaela further mentioned,

"Yeah, and like trust me, that is really enticing."

Mikaela Shiffrin announced her engagement with Aleksander Kilde on April 4, 2024. The couple has been dating each other since 2021, and hope to make their respective nations proud at the upcoming Winter Olympics.

Mikaela Shiffrin previously talked about her preparations for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Milan Cortino scheduled for next year, i.e. 2026. Shiffrin competed in the first race of the FIS Ski World Cup in Solden, Austria, ultimately finishing fourth overall.

In a post-race interview, the alpine skier opened up about her experience as she mentioned,

"I am so happy. After how I ended last season, it was a waiting game and in the end, racing was the next step in the preparation phase to get the race mentality, and I felt like my mind and my body were connected today - I was so nervous this whole week."

Mikaela Shiffrin further congratulated Team USA for their performance as she wrote in her Instagram post,

"Dream no more…we’re doing it now. What a day for this team. @paulamoltzan 👑, @nina_obrien, @katiehensien, @ajhurti, @elisabethbocock 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 For now, just…happy❤️"

Mikaela Shiffrin aims to make it count at the Winter Olympics next year, after returning empty-handed from the Beijing edition held in 2022. Mikaela Shiffrin had won a gold medal at the 2014 Sochi edition in the women's slalom event. She further won two medals at the PyeongChang edition held in 2018: a gold medal in the women's giant slalom event, and a silver medal in the women's combined event.
