The stadium is home to the Nebraska football team. The Huskers' volleyball team overpowered Omaha in the faceoff with a dominating scoreline of 3-0 in front of the packed stadium with 92,003 fans. The team dominated the faceoff with 25-14, 25-14, 25-13, a straight sweep. The outdoor game broke multiple records, including the previous world record for women's sports attendance registered during the Champions League match between FC Barcelona and Wolfsburg on April 22, 2022, in Barcelona, Spain. 91,648 fans attended the game.

It also surpassed the attendance record of an American women’s sporting event, listed during the FIFA World Cup Final (USA vs China) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on July 10, 1999. 90,185 fans were in the stadium.

In a recent interview with Welcome To The Party, hosted by Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy, Huskers' coach, Busboom Kelly, reflected on the record-breaking match. When asked about the changes she has seen in the team's popularity after her return to the program, she said that she couldn't believe the reach they have achieved. Highlighting the record-breaking faceoff, Busboom Kelly said:

"I feel like the perfect example is a stadium match," Murray said. "I think I have met some people who have asked me where I play. They were like, 'Are you in the team that played in the football stadium?' And I was like, yeah. I feel like that's a perfect example, not many schools could do that, and I am convinced that we can do it again if we really want to do. So I mean it's amazing."

The Nebraska Volleyball team has been undefeated so far this season. They will next face UCLA on November 14, 2025.
