Lindsey Vonn's coach, Aksel Lund Svindal, made his feelings known about the American's first World Cup win of the 2025-26 season. She hired Svindal as her coach in August 2025 for the Olympic season.Vonn won her first World Cup in seven years on December 12 at the downhill in St. Moritz, Switzerland. She finished the race in 1:29.63 seconds and won by being just a second ahead of Magdalena Egger. Following her, Australia's Mirjam Puchner ended the race with a third-place finish.The win marked the American's first victory post her comeback after the six-year-long hiatus. After this emotional triumph, the 41-year-old and her coach, Svindal, spoke to TNT Sports.The latter opened up about Vonn's performance, stating that she did a good job and was in her race mode after a long time. Revealing how nervous he was during the start of the performance, he said:"I was nervous. I wasn't sure what I was going to tell you. So I just told you to like get after it, stay over the ski and work with the terrain. Well, I mean I wanted to sound convincing. No, but I honestly, we had a good plan. It wasn't too complicated, right? But I have to say, I thought it would be tight. But you made sure it wasn't tight, so congrats.
