Dani Busboom Kelly opened up about dealing with the Nebraska volleyball team's morale after winning the tough matches in the season. The former Husker shared that it is important to celebrate every positive aspect of the game and enjoy the sport as they navigated through the volleyball season this year.
The Nebraska volleyball team has been unbeaten in the 2025 season so far and has displayed great dominance on the court since its return after the heartbreaking loss in the semi-finals of the NCAA championships. Moreover, the team is being led by a new head coach, Dani Busboom Kelly, along with the addition of several new players.
Busboom Kelly spoke about the Nebraska volleyball team's dominance and expressed her thoughts about navigating tough victories and keeping the team motivated as crucial moments of the season were in the near future. She shared how the team prevents burnout by celebrating small moments and enjoying their journey in their season rather than being pressured about competition.
" It is really tough to win, no matter what level, what sport, and we never want to lose sight of that, and that's something that I have always been a firm believer in. I also am a firm believer that we spend a lot of our time together and a lot of our time with our sport, and if we can't enjoy and celebrate the little things and then we are going to drive ourselves crazy. That's when burnout comes in. When December comes in, you're relieved that the season's over, and I don't want our players to walk out of here feeling that they are relieved, I want them to feel like they can't wait to be back," she said. Dani Busboom Kelly opens up about the Nebraska volleyball team's practice

Dani Busboom Kelly opened up about the Nebraska volleyball team's practice in a post-match interview. The American coach shared that they have been training with several variations, and she has tried to keep the practice as competitive as possible.
Furthermore, she expressed how the players are very motivated to push each other above their limits after falling short by small margins in the last two volleyball seasons.
"During our practices, we have really competitive practices. You know, we are always mixing our teams up, making sure we are creating different match-ups that could be similar to the game. Again, I have said this so many times. The team has fallen short, the bulk of the team for two years now. So, they are pretty hungry, and I think they understand that what is going to happen if they get complacent and it's not going to be good," she said.
Busboom Kelly hopes to lead the Nebraska volleyball team to victory this season.
