The former Nebraska volleyball player, Lexi Rodriguez, made her feelings known about the team's loss at the 2025 NCAA volleyball championships. The team fell short of securing a spot in the national semi-final round.The Huskers experienced a dominant season throughout the year, as they entered the NCAA championships with an unbeaten streak of 29-0. They maintained their streak till the regional finals; however, Texas A&M dashed their hopes by defeating them in that round. On December 14, the latter produced an impressive play against No. 1 Nebraska, claiming a 3-2 win.The loss resulted in the end of their perfect season with an overall score of 33-1. This heartbreaking upset was discussed by Rodriguez in her latest appearance at the Hurrdat Sports Live podcast. When asked about what she thought of the opponent team's performance, she said (22:59 onwards):“But I think, yeah, being able to walk into an arena like Devaney and someone's home crowd like that. You could tell they were confident from right off the bat, but it was pretty cool to see and special for that team, I think, just never being to a final, or not being to a final four in a really long time. Ever, I think. Ever, yeah. It was really cool to see, honestly, but it just sucks that it had to be against Nebraska," said Lexi Rodriguez.Rodriguez's last NCAA season with the Nebraska volleyball team was the 2024 iteration. She concluded her four-year career with the program after playing in the national semi-finals. Just truly amazing people and they just really changed my life and they just believed in me every single person, every single day from the moment I stepped on campus and you can't find that anywhere, you truly can't. I'm just so grateful for everyone and I'll say it for my entire life that this program was the best thing that ever happened to me," Lexi Rodriguez said.Even though Lexi Rodriguez has turned pro, she never falls short of supporting the Nebraska team. In August 2025, she sent an encouraging message to the team ahead of their AVCA first serve.
