Nebraska Volleyball player Laney Choboy recently shared her thoughts about the incredible save she made against the Illinois team. The Nebraska Volleyball team extended its winning streak to 23-0, after defeating the Illinois Fighting Illini by 3-0.Choboy attended the post-match press conference alongside her teammate, Terraya Sigler. The 20-year-old libero talked about the incredible save that she made during a crucial juncture of the match. Choboy also revealed that she was prepared for the move because she knew she had no backup.Laney Choboy elaborated upon the point further as she explained in the post-match press conference,"Um I feel like most of the time, I just react. I don't know. I feel like because it was a big hit, um I know that nobody was behind me to cover it. Like usually, if I'm covering an outside, I know at least someone's behind me, but she [Terraya Sigler] was hitting out of the back row, so I knew that no one was going to be back there." Choboy has replaced Rodriguez as the team's main libero after she bid farewell to the Nebraska Cornhuskers following the 2024 NCAA Championships.Choboy expressed confidence in her abilities as she discussed about maintaining the legacy in an interview organized by Hail Varsity in August 2025. In her words,"Yeah, I think it can be hard when I think about it in a way of taking over Lexi's job and she did such an amazing job here. I think it would be hard if I was to think like that." (5:52 onwards)The libero further added,"I think how I'm kind of going into it is I learned from Lexi and I'm going to continue to use her as a resource of mine but also like I am my own player and I can do this and, you know, while I am stepping into the role that she left behind, like I am coming into it on my own as well."Laney Choboy had joined the Nebraska Volleyball team in the 2023 season. She has been a part of the Nebraska Volleyball team, which qualified for the finals of the 2023 NCAA Championships and the semifinals of the 2024 NCAA Championships.
