Harper Murray reveals why Nebraska Volleyball celebrated Big Ten Title after Penn State Game

Harper Murray recently revealed the reason behind the Nebraska Volleyball team celebrating the Big Ten title victory after the recent game against the defending NCAA champions, the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Nebraska Cornhuskers extended their invincible streak to 29-0 by defeating Penn State for the second consecutive time by 3-0.

Murray attended a press conference along with Andi Jackson after the victory against the Penn State Nittany Lions. Andi Jackson is one of the three co-skippers of the Nebraska Volleyball team alongside Rebekah Allick and Bergen Reilly.

During the conference, when asked if the decision to celebrate the Big Ten title was a collective decision, Murray replied,

"I mean, I think we had just mentioned like, 'Can we wait to celebrate?' Yeah, cuz I think we could also have celebrated at Indiana, but I think we we kind of mentioned like is it possible to wait until we play Penn State?" [15:00 onwards]

The veteran outside hitter further added,

"Um, I don't know like who made the final decision but I know that was something we all were pushing for and we had mentioned."

The Nebraska Volleyball team will now compete against the Ohio State Buckeyes for the final game of the Big Ten Season tonight. The Nebraska Volleyball team will rest for a while before facing the Penn State Nittany Lions in their quest for the NCAA title on December 6.

Harper Murray previously reflected on her life outside the volleyball court. The 20-year-old outside hitter remarked in a conversation with the NCAA Championships channel,

"What I want people to understand is like people have lives outside of their sports. And I feel like that's something that I've been able to incorporate in my social media. And that's kind of been a goal of mine because I feel like when they see that, they can understand that I'm a person also and volleyball is not my whole life. Like there's more to me than that." Harper Murray joined the Nebraska Volleyball team. The outside hitter has been a part of the Nebraska Volleyball team that won the Big Ten Conference title in 2023 and 2024. Murray also represented the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the 2023 and 2024 NCAA Championships, where the team qualified for the finals and the semifinals, respectively.
