The Nebraska volleyball team's ex-player Ally Batenhorst recently exuded pride in her sister, Casey Batenhorst. The latter penned a heartfelt note for the SMU volleyball team as her journey with the program came to an end after four years.Casey's last game with the SMU volleyball team was on December 11 at the 2025 NCAA volleyball championships. They locked horns with Purdue in the regional semi-final round, where the latter dominated the match and claimed a 3-1 (16-25, 25-19, 25-22, 29-27) victory. This loss led to their elimination from the ongoing NCAA championships.Days after the loss, Batenhorst announced her farewell from the team. She posted a bunch of pictures from her time with the Mustangs on her Instagram. She uploaded multiple pictures with her teammates on the court and penned a message in the caption. "Could not be more thankful. I truly adore these people. Thank you to my incredible teammates, coaches, family, and friends who have supported me every step of the way. After 12 years of playing volleyball, it’s hard to comprehend that this chapter has come to an end. I can’t express enough how much I love these people and this program. Revealing how her experience with the Huskers played a huge role in her performance in the professional league, she said:"Yeah, I mean, I think it has definitely set me up pretty well. I think we’re just – me and the other Huskers on the team and a lot of other players on the team – have played in front of big matches and lots of pressure, and it’s not something we are new to," said Ally Batenhorst. She added:"And I think just going into it, we’re all really prepared; we have confidence, and we have confidence in each other, and I think we are just really excited. Obviously, I think there are nerves because we’re playing for something big, but I think we’re very, very ready, and we are going to do great."Ally Batenhorst was recently suspended after being accused of doping violations. She reportedly tested positive for taking a banned substance after the Elite 16 tournament, which was held in Newport Beach.
