During the podcast session, Cain asked if the allegations by Torre held any merit. A smiling Gaines replied that she'd never heard of Pablo Torre in the first place, and none of his accusations have any logical proof at all.

Gaines elaborated on this point further as she explained during her interaction,

"I guess that's the point he's trying to make. Look, I've never heard of this Pablo figure before, not a knock at him, I-I've just never heard of him. He spent 6 months on what he calls this 'GROUNDBREAKING DEEP DIVE INVESTIGATION.' "

The swimmer-turned-social activist further added,

"...And what he found Will, he found that I have a job that I'm paid for, he found that my messaging has gotten sharper over the years as I've learned more about this issue. And of course he's found this information about my college coach which you read my tweet, is the easiest thing in the world for me to condemn."

Riley Gaines has been fighting for the exclusion of trans athletes from women's sports since 2022. The 25-year-old swimmer-turned-social activist also sued the NCAA authorities for being allegedly biased towards the trans athletes alongside 15 other athletes in early 2024.

Riley Gaines previously responded to the claims made by Pablo Torre in his 'explosive' investigation report. The journalist claimed that Gaines' campaign was driven less by conscience, and more by profit, indicating her support towards the Republican Party.

Gaines responded by calling out his allegations on her X account [formerly Twitter], asking him to try harder. She wrote,

"I love when there’s a baseless hit piece about me, but I’m so consumed in our perfect baby that I didn’t even notice (and even if I had, I couldn’t care less). 6 month "investigation" for that? To find out I have a job that pays me? Ground-breaking discovery, truly. When you know you’re on the right side of history, the smears don’t matter. Try harder, @PabloTorre."
