Head coach of the Nebraska Volleyball team, Dani Busboom Kelly, recently opened up about the double challenge play during the team's previous game against the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Nebraska Cornhuskers continued their unbeaten streak with another convincing victory against the Hawkeyes.
In the post-match press conference, Dani Busboom Kelly reflected on the team's performance against the Iowa Hawkeyes. She also opened up about the Nebraska Cornhuskers' chances of securing the Big Ten Conference Championship for the third consecutive time since 2023.
When asked about the double challenge play, Kelly replied,
"Well, they challenged that the ball was down, but I clearly thought it was up off Laney's shoe. That's debatable, but um Bergen [Reilly] was like they were in the net on the joust and so then we challenged the net on the play before that ball out the foot. So that's what happened. So that got reversed." [0:38 onwards]
Coach Kelly referred to the crucial juncture in the game, where the Iowa Hawkeyes claimed that the ball hit the court, allowing them a point against the Nebraska Volleyball team. However, Bergen Reilly counter challenged the claim, claiming that the ball hit the net before striking off Laney Choboy's shoe. After hearing both the sides, the jury gave the verdict in favor of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, reversing the points awarded to Iowa Hawkeyes.

It had been nearly a fortnight before the Nebraska Volleyball team, aka the Nebraska Cornhuskers, got the chance to play a home game at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, when they faced the Iowa Hawkeyes in a must-win game.
Before that, the Nebraska Volleyball faced the UCLA Bruins on November 14, and subsequently, they competed against the USC Trojans on November 16.
The clean sweep streak of the Nebraska Volleyball team was broken in the game against the UCLA Bruins, when they won the third set of the game, before the Nebraska Cornhuskers bounced back in time to win the game by 3-1.
After the victory against the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Nebraska Cornhuskers will now aim to win all the remaining games in style to secure the Big Ten Conference title for 2025. The Huskers will compete against the Indiana Hoosiers on November 22, followed by another game against the Penn State Nittany Lions on November 28, and a game against the Ohio State Buckeyes on November 29.
