Suni Lee recently congratulated Kaohly Her on winning the St. Paul mayor elections. Her is the first lady from the Hmong community to become the mayor of St. Paul.

Lee took to her Instagram profile to share the news. She congratulated Kaohly Her for the victory and hoped that the Hmong community continue to prosper. Lee was born to Hmong immigrants from Laos, who had emigrated to the USA.

Suni Lee shared the news on her Instagram profile. She wrote in the caption of the story,

"Hmong women are coming! Couldn't be happier for someone!!"

Suni Lee had previously attended the 'Haha podcast' organized by the Ha sisters. The 22-year-old gymnast opened up about her Olympic aspirations and why she wanted to join the Olympics, not for money or fame. In her words,

“I just like, I never wanted the money or the fame. Like, I just wanted to go to the Olympics, because I loved gymnastics so much, and that was always my dream, but like, I didn't want anything that came after it." [40:17 onwards]

Suni Lee had previously attended back-to-back fashion events in New York City. The 22-year-old gymnast was spotted at the Glamour Women of the Year awards ceremony, as well as the CFDA fashion awards.

Suni Lee previously sent a powerful message to young girls about balancing their dreams and the femininity. The 22-year-old gymnast mentioned in a conversation with the Marie Claire magazine in October 2025,

"Growing up, I didn’t see many girls who looked like me in spaces like this. To now be here as an athlete, as someone who’s worked so hard to achieve her dreams, it feels powerful. I want young girls to know they don’t have to fit into just one box. You can chase Olympic gold and still own your femininity."

Lee was referring to her debut on the Victoria Secret's runway alongside WNBA player Angel Reese. She further added in the interview,

"Honestly, I didn’t have much time to prepare for this, and that was probably for the best. It allowed me to show up here exactly as I am. Just me, not trying to be something I’m not."

Suni Lee had last participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics. She won a gold medal in the women's team all-around event and two individual bronze medals in the women's individual all-around event and the women's uneven bars event, respectively.
