After Suni Lee’s “Miss It” gymnastics post, Hezly Rivera publicly asks her to come back

Suni Lee recently shared a video from her gymnastics days, opening up about how much she missed the sport. This video also attracted Hezley Rivera's attention, who publicly asked her to make a comeback.

Lee has been out of action after her 2024 Paris Olympics campaign. She won three medals, including a gold in the team event and two bronze in the individual all-around and uneven bars. Following this campaign, she has been exploring new career opportunities in the fashion industry, and is often spotted visiting fashion events.

However, despite her absence from the sport, her love for it hasn't decreased. She recently shared a video of her performing on the mat on TikTok. Expressing her feelings about gymnastics, she wrote:

"Grrrr i miss it 🥲❤️"

This video captured Rivera's attention, who dropped a sweet comment asking the American to return to the sport. She wrote:

"so come backk🙃"

Clearing her stance on her comeback, Lee replied to the 17-year-old's comment, writing:

"girl u crazy 😂😂"

Following the 2024 Summer Games, Suni Lee returned to the gym for training in March this year. She shared a harsh reality of training after a long hiatus, posting a video of herself on uneven bars and writing:

“Was feeling bored so I went into the gym for the first time since the Olympics, about 7 months ago?? And I caught the first yeager i tried 😭, my shoulders are doneeee for after this."

Suni Lee opened up about finding herself outside gymnastics

In a conversation with Glamour magazine, Suni Lee opened up about discovering herself outside of gymnastics. Revealing her interest in fashion, she said that it was ideal for self-expression, as a lot of people didn't know her outside of the sport.

“It’s always just been gymnastics, gymnastics, gymnastics, whereas right now it’s like, Who is Suni outside gymnastics? She’s fun, she’s energetic, outgoing, very brave. But not a lot of people see that, and it’s something that I want to expand on more. I think fashion can be a really good way to express yourself," said Suni Lee.

In the same interview, she also said that she hadn't completely dismissed the hopes of returning to the sport.

“I don’t think I would want there to be a huge story. I’d just want to work my butt off in the gym every single day and get everything that I deserved at the Olympics,” she said.
