The Vancouver Canucks are taking on the Dallas Stars on Thursday night, coming off a high-scoring 8-5 loss to the Florida Panthers. After a defeat to the defending Stanley Cup champs, Vancouver dropped to 7th in the Pacific Division with a 9-10-2 record.
The Dallas Stars lost 3-2 to the Islanders on Tuesday night, but stayed 2nd in the Central Division with a 12-5-3 record (6-1-2 away). The game ended in turmoil, after Mikko Rantanen's ejection for his controversial boarding of Alexander Romanov.
Islanders HC Patrick Roy was incensed and threatened the Stars forward as he was exiting the game after receiving a game misconduct for his boarding hit. The brodcast picked up Roy unloading onto Rantanen,
"You're not gonna f*****g finish that game", yelled Roy referencing to the next time Islanders meet the Stars in February 2026.
