Calgary Flames veteran Nazem Kadri has garnered a lot of interest in the market lately. The 35-year-old is one of the players the Montreal Canadiens are rumored to be interested in.

Although the Habs are not on his 13-team no-trade list, the interest could generate momentum if possibilities grow. However, according to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the possibility of the Montreal Canadiens trading prospect Michael Hage for Nazem Kadri (10:20 onwards):

"No, it's not. Watching what Michael Hage has done at Michigan, pretty special so far. The Montreal Canadiens have to be thrilled with yet another interesting prospect in their pipeline. Great first round pick," Seravalli said.

Kadri is currently signed to a seven-year, $49 million contract with the Flames. He will become an unrestricted free agent after his contract expires at the end of the 2028-29 season.

Nazem Kadri opens up about speculation around his future

During a recent interview with Sportsnet, Nazem Kadri addressed speculation about his future, stating that it does not bother him as he is fully focused on winning games.

"For me, it's really nothing that draws my attention," Kadri said, mentioning that he has seen more difficulties in the past," Kadri said. "Obviously, there's going to be some questions about it. I'm okay to answer them, but at the end of the day, I'm focused on winning hockey games."

He added:

"I'm focused on winning hockey. That's all I care about."

Kadri has been with the Flames for the last four years. This season, he has accumulated eight points through two goals and six assists in 11 games.

Meanwhile, the Flames have been struggling to find momentum so far this season, sitting at the bottom of the Pacific Division with a 2-8-1 record. They travel to the Canadian Tire Centre to face the Ottawa Senators next on Thursday. The puck drops at 7 p.m. ET.
