The Edmonton Oilers will be facing the Florida Panthers on Saturday night, in a 2024 and 2025 Stanley Cup Finals rematch. Oilers are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightining, dropping to 5th place in the Pacific Division with a 9-9-5 record.
The injury-ridden Florida Panthers are 5th in the Atlantic Division with a 11-8-1 record, after battling it out against the New Jersey Devils for a tight, 1-0 win on Thursday night.
On Saturday's episode of 32 Thoughts: The Podcast, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman said the Oilers did not take well to the Panthers' celebrations after the 2025 Stanley Cup win.
"The Oilers as an organization were not happy with some of the post celebration commentary from the Panthers. The Panthers really rubbed that second one in, they really did, said Friedman."
