The Vancouver Canucks will take on the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday night in their second of a three-game road trip, following a 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes on Friday.
The Canucks picked up forward David Kampf from waivers and signed him to a one-year, $1.1 million AAV deal. GM Patrik Allvin was all praise for the ex-Leafs forward after announcing the signing on Saturday.
"David is a very reliable two-way centre who will improve our strength and depth down the middle immediately. He is good in the faceoff fot and is a solid penalty killer, two areas of need we currently have on our team. His hockey IQ is also a big asset and we believe he will fit in nicely with our group," said Allvin.
