Calgary Flames forward Nazem Kadri and Carolina Hurricanes defenseman K’Andre Miller got into a heated exchange on Sunday night at the PNC Arena.During the third period, Kadri and Miller got tangled up in front of the Hurricanes' bench after Miller drilled Kadri. At that point, K’Andre Miller cut him off, pounding Kadri into the Canes’ bench. The two exchanged words before going at one another.While the gloves didn’t come off, the wrestling match led to the two players hitting the penalty box. Nazem Kadri and K’Andre Miller both got two minutes for roughing at the four-minute mark of the third.If the pugilists had dropped the gloves, they would have gotten major penalties for fighting. However, the gloves stayed on. The Canes pulled out a 1-0 overtime victory over Nazem Kadri and the Calgary Flames. Cooley managed to get a piece of the puck, but it still trickled past him for the goal.Meanwhile, Sunday’s tilt was a showdown between backup goalies. Cooley made 16 saves for the Flames, while Brandon Bussi got the clean sheet for the Hurricanes. Meanwhile, K’Andre Miller logged over 23 minutes on the night on 29 shifts. Miller is part of the workhorse top-four pairing for the Hurricanes this season.The two clubs will meet once again on March 7 for their second and final meeting of the season. Perhaps Miller and Kadri will be eager to renew hostilities then.
