"This is the most fun I’ve had playing hockey. I love living here."Utah won its seventh straight game on Sunday, defeating last season's Presidents' Trophy winner, the Winnipeg Jets. Cooley contributed to the game-winning goal by Dylan Guenther in the third period."If you didn't see that last night with that no, look pass to Dylan Gunther and those two hugging, like, think about how long those two are going to rally together," Smith said. "And that's, that's pretty that's a pretty cool option to have. So these are moments you hope that you're in. I mean, if these are problems. These are great problems to have."Cooley was drafted at No. 3 by Arizona in 2022. He scored 25 goals and had 65 points with Utah last season. He plays on the top line with JJ Peterka and Dylan Guenther, and is an important pillar of the team's offense.Smith is confident in signing Cooley and keeping him with the Mammoth."There's no problem, I talked to Logan, and we're, we're all aligned," Smith said. "And so it's going to be a good thing. Now, look, I mean, we got a couple 21-year-olds, 22-year-olds that they could be doing this for a while, and we've got to be smart and we've got a plan, because we got to stack good decisions."Logan Cooley rejected $9.6 AAV extension offerNHL insider Frank Seravalli reported that Logan Cooley turned down an eight-year $76.8 million deal worth $9.6 million per season."Sources: @utahmammoth made a push to get rising star Logan Cooley extended before start of the season, but his camp turned down an 8-year deal worth nearly $77 million (8 years x $9.6 million)," Seravalli tweeted on Oct. 6.Utah missed the playoffs last year with a 38-31-13 record, but the team hopes to reach the postseason for the first time this year.
