This week marked exactly two years since the alleged domestic incident that led to Milan Lucic’s arrest in Boston, and on Tuesday, his wife Brittany publicly reflected on the milestone with a rare Instagram post that signaled how far their family had come since November 2023.
She shared a new photo of the couple on her Instagram accompanied by a message that read:
“✨I’ve stared down the devil in more forms than most people ever will and not once was it you. ✨I’m proud of the grit, the fight, and the fire you carry. You dig deeper than anyone I know, bettering yourself for you and for OUR family.”
“We’re blessed, and I stand by you with zero doubt. Proud of YOU and US. This milestone is because YOU chose to do the HARD work!☺️✨🙏🏼👏🏼2👏🏼
The post came two years after the night police responded to the couple’s North End condo where Lucic was arrested following an alleged altercation. He pleaded not guilty days later and the Boston Bruins placed him on an indefinite leave of absence after which he entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program and stepped away from the league for the remainder of the season.
The criminal case concluded in February 2024 when the charge was dropped after Brittany invoked marital privilege which prevented prosecutors from proceeding.
Lucic and Brittany had married in 2012 and shared three children together. His path since the incident included a long period out of the public eye and a formal stint in the league’s assistance program.
Milan Lucic’s wife hyped his AHL debut for the T-Birds
Earlier this month, the MassMutual Center saw a sold-out crowd gathered to watch longtime Boston Bruins favorite Milan Lucic make his AHL debut with the Springfield Thunderbirds. The Friday night matchup marked Lucic’s first appearance in the league after signing a professional tryout contract with Springfield.
His wife Brittany documented the milestone night from start to finish on her Instagram. She began her day with a bright selfie captioned “Good afternoon Springfield” before sharing the official sold-out graphic that confirmed the arena would be packed for Milan’s debut.
Once inside, she posted a rink-side clip set to “Welcome to the Jungle,” adding an all-caps:
“LET’S GOOOOOOO” as she reshared it to her story.
Brittany also showed off her Springfield Thunderbirds T-shirt and reposted a photo with friends proudly calling themselves “The Lucic Fan Club.” Before puck drop, she shared a clip of Milan walking down the tunnel toward the ice as fans reached out to greet him during the walkout.
After attending St. Louis Blues training camp earlier this fall and recording a goal and an assist through four preseason games, he joined Springfield following a lower-body injury setback. A Stanley Cup champion with the Bruins in 2011, Lucic has played 1,177 NHL games and tallied 233 goals, 353 assists and 1,301 penalty minutes over the course of his career.
