Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Stuart Skinner’s wife Chloe shared a carousel of Christmas photos on Wednesday featuring a glimpse into their family life just days after the netminder was traded from the Oilers to the Penguins.

One photo shows Stuart and Chloe seated closely together on a leather armchair in front of a decorated Christmas tree holding their two sons. The family was dressed in coordinated neutral-toned outfits with their oldest son Beau sitting on Stuart’s lap while their younger child rested in Chloe’s arms.

Another image captured the couple smiling down at Beau as he looked back toward the camera.

“Home is where the heart is ❤️🎄🎅🏼 and these boys right here have my whole heart!!!!” Chole captioned the post.

Several photos in the carousel featured the children with Santa Claus. In one, both boys were seen sitting on Santa’s lap with Beau looking curiously to the side while his younger brother stared ahead. Another close-up focused on the younger child with Santa.

Chloe and Stuart Skinner were married in June 2020 after meeting during Skinner’s junior hockey years. The couple welcomed their first son Beau Stuart Skinner in January 2023 and their second son earlier this year.

The post comes shortly after Skinner was traded on December 12 in a multi-player deal between Edmonton and Pittsburgh. The Penguins acquired Skinner along with defenseman Brett Kulak and a future second-round draft pick while the Oilers received goaltender Tristan Jarry and forward Sam Poulin. The move ended Skinner’s tenure with the Oilers, the organization that drafted and developed him and with which he spent his entire NHL career prior to the trade.

Stuart Skinner’s wife opens up on tuning out the noise at home

Earlier this year, Stuart Skinner’s wife Chloe Skinner spoke candidly about her family’s journey during an appearance on the Breaking the Ice podcast.

She shared that no matter how Stuart’s game is judged publicly, it stops at the door which allows their family to remain grounded and normal away from the rink.

“We have this haven at home where we walk in the door and hockey doesn’t matter, what people’s opinions of Stuart’s game, it doesn’t matter anymore. We’re just a regular family,” Chloe said.

She also reflected on how the past year has tested her emotionally. Facing negativity and criticism, she said, has ultimately helped her learned to tune out the noise.

“It’s truly been such a life lesson this year dealing with the hate and ugliness because it’s really helped me just center down and be like, okay, people can say what they want and it really means nothing to me and my family.”

Looking back a decade, Chole Skinner also contrasted her present confidence with who she once was. She recalled being an anxious young woman from Red Deer, Alberta, overwhelmed by life and uncertainty. Ten years later, she said she feels capable of taking on anything noting that enduring this experience has strengthened her belief in her ability to handle difficult challenges.
