Sidney Crosby became the ninth player in NHL history to reach 1,700 career points. He achieved that milestone after scoring a goal and two assists in the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 6-3 win over the St. Louis Blues on Monday.

However, during the post-game media interaction, Sidney Crosby did not want to share his thoughts about the achievement. According to reports, a Penguins fan fell in the upper deck in the stands during the game and is believed to be seriously injured.

Sidney Crosby was worried about the fan and extended his thoughts and prayers to the person.

“We just heard someone fell tonight. Doesn’t feel right to be talking about points. My thoughts and prayers to that person," Crosby said.

Sidney Crosby has been performing exceptionally well for the Penguins this season. With another two points added to his tally, Sid the Kid increased his season total to 14 points through seven goals and seven assists in 10 games.

Meanwhile, the Penguins improved their record to 7-2-1, holding second position in the Metro Division. They'll be up against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.

Sidney Crosby shines as Penguins down St. Louis Blues

On Monday, the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the St. Louis Blues 6-3 at PPG Paints Arena.

Bryan Rust opened the scoring for the Penguins, putting them ahead 1-0 just 39 seconds into the opening period. Ten seconds later, Anthony Mantha increased the lead to 2-0.

The Blues bounced back with goals from Nick Bjugstad and Jordan Kyrou, tying it 2-2 before heading into the second period. Parker Wotherspoon scored for the hosts at 6:37, putting them ahead 3-2.

In the third period, Rust struck his second of the night to make it 4-2 for the Penguins just 42 seconds in. Mathieu Joseph scored for the Blues to cut the deficit to 4-3 at 4:35.

Goals from Crosby and Evgeni Malkin (empty-net) sealed a commanding 6-3 win for Pittsburgh. Bryan Rust, Crosby, and Erik Karlsson all notched three points for the Penguins in the win. Tristan Jarry made 26 saves and posted a .896 save percentage between the sticks.
