Many accused Zadorov of targeting the head and playing recklessly.“The NFL figured out how to police the head shot before the NHL, and now hockey can rot”Evan @torontosports67LINK@spittinchiclets The NFL figured out how to police the head shot before the NHL, and now hockey can rot“Head shots are NOT clean hits!!!!” commented another fan.“On what fucking planet is that not an elbow lmfao,” quipped one user.Scott Laughton did not return to the game and the Maple Leafs later confirmed he sustained an upper-body injury. Just kind of caught out of the corner of my eye. Um didn't really love the hit from I guess what I saw, but just caught out of the corner and wanted to make sure that he knew that I didn't like it.”McMann admitted the situation was tough to watch given Laughton had only returned to the lineup.“That one sucks because you hate that side of the game,” he said. “I was hoping he was back in the game, but unfortunately, yeah, that’s a tough part of it. I hope he’s back soon.”As for his own decision to drop the gloves with Zadorov following the hit despite the size mismatch, McMann said it came down to standing up for a teammate.
