Milan Lucic’s wife Brittany Lucic on Wednesday shared a pointed message in the wake of the death of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Kirk, 31, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot dead on Wednesday while speaking to students at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Kirk was participating in a “Prove Me Wrong” Q&A event under a tent on campus when a gunshot fired from a nearby rooftop struck him in the neck.
Brittany condemned the violence in an Instagram story.
“Every person is entitled to free speech, but NO ONE is entitled to take another life," she wrote. "Violence is the symptom…beneath the cause lies with deep pain, disconnection, and societal failures that drive people to these horrific acts. One is a freedom that builds society…the other is a violation that destroys it.”

Eyewitnesses described chaos as students dove for cover and rushed to flee the area. Kirk was rushed to the hospital but later pronounced dead. Authorities believe the shooter fired from the roof of the university’s Losee Center, around 200 yards from the scene.
President Donald Trump pens moving tribute in Charlie Kirk's memory
Following the news of Kirk's death, US President Donald Trump called the activist “great, and even legendary” in a heartfelt message on Truth Social. He praised Kirk’s influence on young conservatives, saying he was a “fearless fighter for America” who inspired a new generation to speak up for their beliefs.
"No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie," he wrote. "He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!"
“For years those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers and criminals. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today and it must stop right now."
Early reports indicated that a person of interest was detained, but police later clarified that no suspect is currently in custody. The FBI, Utah state police and local authorities are leading a manhunt, with descriptions circulating of a figure in all-black tactical gear carrying a long gun.
