In a new Instagram clip shared with her followers, Brittany spoke candidly about navigating the period after the headlines and court proceedings that placed her family under intense public scrutiny.

“At that time, I went and focused on what I needed to do,” she said in the video. “We were so fortunate that we were prioritizing ourselves, but prioritizing ourselves to show up for one another and our families. And it was really public and it was really scary.”

The 2023 incident which led to Milan Lucic’s temporary leave from the Boston Bruins at the time drew widespread media attention. The veteran forward was charged with assault and battery on a family member following an alleged altercation at their Boston residence but pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors later dropped the case in February 2024 after Brittany invoked marital privilege declining to testify.

Brittany described the months that followed as stressful explaining that the public attention and misinformation compounded the pressure on their family.
