Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson’s wife Katelyn Byrd’s new Swedish-inspired chocolate and candy brand “Swete” made its arena debut Tuesday night at Rogers Arena during the Canucks’ 5-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.
Katelyn shared several Instagram stories from the game night including photos of fans in the stands holding Swete packages.
“Spotted 😭🍬@swetetreat,” she wrote in the caption.
She later reposted another story adding that the brand received strong initial response from fans:
“We’re almost sold out in the first period 🫶🥺”

On the ice, Elias Pettersson notched two assists in the loss. Vancouver jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the first period with Pettersson setting up one of the early goals, but the Jets responded with three unanswered tallies including two before the first intermission.
Starting goaltender Thatcher Demko exited early with a lower-body injury after allowing three goals on eight shots, forcing the Canucks to turn to backup Casey DeSmith for the remainder of the game

Earlier this month, Elias Pettersson’s wife Katelyn Byrd officially announced Swete through a YouTube vlog on her channel.
In the video, Katelyn shared behind-the-scenes moments from the brand’s first promotional shoot which took place inside Rogers Arena, home of the Vancouver Canucks.
“Good morning! I am getting a ride to the first shoot ever for the company by this guy (Petterson). I’m so excited. My nerves are crazy this morning. I’m feeling a little nauseous, but it’s okay. It’s going to go really well. I’m super excited,” she said.
Footage showed Pettersson driving her to the arena as she prepared for the shoot.
“I was traveling all across the world and trying the best candy in Europe,” Katelyn said in the video. “Even the chocolate in the Scandinavian countries and in Switzerland, you can’t even relate it to the chocolate here in North America.”
She explained that the idea for Swete stemmed from her modeling career and her travels through Scandinavia where she discovered “Lördagsgodis”, Sweden’s Saturday candy tradition.
“Every time I’d go back to Sweden, we’d have Lördagsgodis. It’s a tradition I fell in love with,” Katelyn shared.
The vlog also showed previews of Swete’s packaging and branding process along with scenes from early business meetings. Katelyn shared that her goal was to bring Scandinavian-style sweets with cleaner ingredients and authentic flavour profiles to the North American market.
