With the game 1-0 in favor of the Blackhawks early in the second period, MacKenzie Weegar and Alex Vlasic exchanged a few pleasantries before chucking knucks.

Here’s a look at the explosive action on the ice as shown on B/R Open Ice’s official X account:

Despite the significant height difference, Weegar held his own against Vlasic. The two combatants traded heavy blows without either one hitting the ice.

So, it seems the fight ended in a split decision. The officials broke up the fight and escorted the pugilists to the penalty box.

Despite the lack of a decisive winner, the fight showcased some heavyweight action. Perhaps there might be a rematch on the horizon to settle the score once and for all.

Alex Vlasic and Blackhawks shut out MacKenzie Weegar and Flames

When everything was said and done on the ice, Alex Vlasic and the Chicago Blackhawks notched a big 4-0 shutout win. The Blackhawks got two goals from Tyler Bertuzzi, with Andre Burakovsky and Connor Bedard getting the other tallies. Bedard ended with a four-point night and the game's first star.

Meanwhile, Spencer Knight continues to shine for Chicago. The Hawks’ starting netminder made 33 saves en route to his first clean sheet of the season. The Blackhawks continue to impress. They are now 7-5-3 on the season and continuing to defy expectations.

The Flames are now 4-10-2 good for last overall in the NHL. MacKenzie Weegar had a tough night. The Calgary blueliner played nearly 24 minutes across 30 shifts. However, he was a minus-3, despite blocking four shots.

The game was especially frustrating for the Flames, as they outshot the Blackhawks 33-27. Still, they were unable to solve Knight despite controlling the play at times. The Flames had three power play opportunities, but were unable to connect. The Blackhawks, for their part, made the most of their chances with the man advantage, scoring once.

The Blackhawks and Flames will meet again on November 18 at the United Center. Perhaps the MacKenzie Weegar and the Flames will get revenge on Alex Vlasic and the Blackhawks, both with their fists and on the scoreboard.

The rematch will be the second of three meetings between these two teams, seemingly headed in different directions this season.
