The Oilers were booed off the ice by the home crowd at Rogers Place after the second period, reflecting mounting frustration with the team’s inconsistent play early in the season. Coming off a humiliating 9-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche just two days prior, the Oilers found themselves trailing 3-1 midway through the game. After the game, Connor McDavid acknowledged the fans’ frustration and emphasized that the team heard the boos and used them as motivation to turn the game around."The group likes to put itself in a tough spot, and then just when you think it's a tough spot, we go a little bit further, and then right then we decide it's time to go," McDavid said.He added:"So, that's probably what that second period was. We hear it.
