Connor McDavid's wife Lauren drops 1-word reaction to beau's spin-o-rama highlight reel goal vs. Blue Jackets

Connor McDavid delivered a sensational spin-o-rama goal in the third period of Saturday night’s matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets, sparking the Edmonton Oilers’ 5-4 win in overtime.

McDavid picked up a pass from Evan Bouchard near the neutral zone, turned on the jets down the right side, spun around defenceman Denton Mateychuk and roofed a backhander past goaltender Jet Greaves, cutting the Blue Jackets’ lead to 4-3.

He had pulled off another slick backhand goal earlier in the period to make it 3-2.

After the final buzzer, McDavid’s wife, Lauren Kyle, shared a clip of the goal from Sportsnet’s account on her Instagram stories. Over the replay of the spin move, she simply wrote:

“Wee”

McDavid provided a much-needed spark for the Oilers, who were coming off a humbling 9-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche just two nights earlier. The team fell behind again against Columbus but clawed back in the third before Jack Roslovic sealed the win just 56 seconds into overtime.

McDavid finished with two goals, extending his point streak to five games and his goal streak to three. Head coach Kris Knoblauch called it “one of those moments where Connor just decides he’s not losing.”

Last week, Lauren Kyle, who founded Sports Club Atelier, shared a look at her brand's racing-inspired capsule titled “Oilers Collection 03.”

Lauren shared a pair of behind-the-scenes Instagram stories on Thursday, teasing the campaign. The first story showed a production sheet labeled “Sports Club Atelier × Oilers Collection 03” placed atop a car. The next featured a model wearing an Oilers-branded racing jacket posing beside a bold orange vintage muscle car.

“This campaign and collection is tooooo good!!! Can’t wait to share more with you all!” Lauren wrote tagging her brand @sportsclubatelier.

The upcoming Collection 03 is the latest addition to Sports Club Atelier’s growing lineup of luxury team-inspired streetwear. Since launching in late 2024, Lauren’s label has carved out a niche by fusing sports culture with high-fashion design. Previous releases, including The Legacy Line and The Foundry Collection, were also shared by Lauren on Instagram.
